Bitter, dangerously cold conditions continue before mid-week thaw

The bitter, dangerously cold weather is hanging around this Tuesday. Temperatures are challenging the record low early this morning (11 in 1930). Wind chills below zero will hang around until midday. A good deal of sunshine is expected, but it will remain below freezing. The wind will subside by late afternoon.

The cold will moderate by Wednesday when high temperatures return to the 40s. Thursday will be milder with highs in the 50s. Another cold front arrives by Friday, but the air will not be as cold as what we are experiencing now. This front will bring a chilly weekend with highs in the 30s and 40s.
