CJ Stroud of the Texans has recently attained a new accolade in his outstanding rookie season

In his burgeoning NFL career, C.J. Stroud has achieved a noteworthy milestone: being named a Pro Bowl quarterback. The 22-year-old rising star from the Houston Texans, also a top contender for Offensive Rookie of the Year, received the honor as he replaces Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who is set to participate in the Super Bowl instead of the NFL’s all-star event in Orlando this weekend.

Joining Stroud at the Pro Bowl will be rookie defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and veteran offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, representing the Texans.

According to Texans sources, Stroud becomes the first rookie QB to earn a Pro Bowl selection since New England’s Mac Jones in 2021. Notably, he is the second rookie QB in Texans history to achieve this distinction.

This year’s Pro Bowl Games break from tradition, featuring a two-day event that includes a skills competition on Thursday and a series of flag football games on Sunday. In addition to football-related competitions like precision passing and best catch, the event incorporates unconventional contests such as closest-to-the-pin driving and dodgeball. Flag football takes center stage on Sunday, while Madden NFL gaming and a “move the chains” lineman competition are also part of the festivities.
