HISD bus falls into 8-foot-wide sinkhole in southeast Houston, officials say

In southeast Houston, a significant sinkhole emerged Friday morning due to a water leak, as reported by Houston Public Works.

Crews from the public works department were dispatched to address the sinkhole, which occurred near the junction of Sims Drive and Swallow Street.

An HISD bus transporting students to school was partially engulfed by the 8-foot-wide cavity. Fortunately, the HISD transportation director confirmed that no injuries were reported, and the bus was swiftly removed from the sinkhole without any apparent damage.
