Altercation outside Fort Worth church leads to shooting, suspect at large

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, a dispute outside a church in Fort Worth late Saturday night resulted in a person being hospitalized with a gunshot wound.

Police responded to the 7300 block of South Freeway around 11:07 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival at New Bethel Complete in Christ Church, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was promptly taken to a local hospital, where they are expected to recover from their injuries.

Investigators indicated that a large gathering was taking place at the church when an altercation erupted, leading to gunshots being fired and the victim being struck.

The shooter remains at large, and authorities have not released any information regarding the suspect’s description.

No additional injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting, and no arrests have been made at this time.
