Police chase suspect who shot brother then drove away with children in car

Fort Worth Police responded to reports of a shooting near the 400 block of Millbrook Lane on Sunday morning.

A male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the lower torso and received medical attention from Fort Worth Fire and MedStar, as per police reports.

The victim informed law enforcement that his brother shot him before leaving the scene in a vehicle with the victim’s two children.

Following a broadcast of the vehicle description, a Patrol Sergeant spotted it near FM 1187 in South Fort Worth, police stated.

Despite attempts to pull over, the vehicle did not yield to police. Eventually, the suspect stopped at a church near John Jones Drive and W. County Road 714 in Burleson, according to authorities.

Fort Worth Police reported that they apprehended the armed suspect and safely reunited the children with family members.

The Fort Worth Police Gun Violence Unit is conducting an investigation into the incident.
