Houston Texans fans’ reaction mixed on new season 23 uniforms: ‘We look like Falcons, dawg’

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Texans embarked on a new era last season under the guidance of C.J. Stroud and DeMeco Ryans, culminating in an AFC South championship.

However, with the dawn of a new era comes a new look. Yet, whether this change resonates with the fanbase remains to be seen.

In a move to unveil their updated aesthetic, the franchise’s CEO, Cal McNair, turned to Reddit to share a photo featuring wide receivers Tank Dell and Nico Collins donning gear not seen during the 2023 season.

“Leaked pic? How about a real photo of Nico and Tank!?” McNair captioned the image on the team’s r/Texans Reddit, in response to early unauthorized snapshots of the jerseys.

The image showcased several noticeable changes, including horizontally sweeping horns across the shoulders, as opposed to the traditional vertical placement, and a new number typeface.

McNair hinted at further developments, stating, “more to come in April,” while the team’s social media platforms outside Reddit exclaimed, “Cal droppin’ bombs.”

However, initial fan reactions on platforms such as Twitter, now known as X, were mixed.

One user graded the new look as a “6.9 out of 10,” while another lamented, “Should’ve kept the old ones.”

Despite the criticism, some fans expressed approval, with one user describing the uniforms as “clean.”

Overall, opinions on the new jerseys varied greatly, with one user succinctly summarizing, “Probably one of those things where you love it or you hate it.”

sports director Greg Bailey teased further developments, indicating that he had seen the full uniform package and was impressed.

As anticipation builds for the full reveal in April, fans and observers alike await the unveiling of the Texans’ complete makeover.
