Houston shooting victim stopped on Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road, causing southbound delay, HPD says

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Traffic came to a halt on the outbound Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road at Fuqua due to a shooting victim discovered on the roadway, authorities reported Monday afternoon.

Initially, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office stated that they, along with the Houston Police Department, were managing an undisclosed incident that led to the closure of the southbound toll road at West Fuqua Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, traffic was redirected onto the Sam Houston Tollway as a result.

In a subsequent update, HPD informed that the scene involved a shooting victim found injured within Houston city limits.

The victim was discovered on the toll road, although it remains unclear whether they were involved in a crash or pulled over voluntarily. Law enforcement did not provide immediate details regarding the victim’s condition.

An ongoing investigation is underway.
