Woman found dead in North Harris County residence from apparent gunshot wounds, HCSO says

Deputies are conducting an investigation following the discovery of a deceased Hispanic woman in her early 50s inside a residence in north Harris County on Sunday morning.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the victim had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities revealed that Harris County Sheriff’s deputies had visited the woman’s residence on Verde Trails Drive twice on Saturday night before eventually gaining forced entry the next morning.

Inside the residence, an adult male, who also resides there, was found. Investigators intend to interview him to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the woman’s death.

Reports of possible gunshots in the vicinity were received around 10 p.m. on Saturday. Deputies conducted a search and spoke to neighbors but found no evidence of gunfire.

An hour later, another report was received about the same location. Upon revisiting, authorities discovered an open garage door without a vehicle present. Although they suspected a disturbance, they found no signs of forced entry.

Deputies returned to the residence at 7 a.m. on Sunday and forcibly entered, where they discovered the woman deceased from gunshot wounds. The exact timing of the shooting remains uncertain as investigations continue.
