Dreams Never Age: 95-year-old opens acclaimed barbeque spot

In Houston, Texas, John Toomey, a vibrant 95-year-old, has no intention of slowing down. Instead of idling away on the front porch, he thrives on keeping busy.

Over the course of his life, Toomey has pursued various ventures, including practicing law, managing hotels, running restaurants, and delving into the automobile industry. He relishes every opportunity to stay engaged and productive.

Now, Toomey is immersing himself once again in the restaurant business with J-Bar-M Barbecue and Beer Garden. The establishment recently earned recognition from Texas Monthly, ranking among the top 25 new BBQ joints in the state.

Situated east of downtown Houston at 2201 Leeland Street, J-Bar-M promises patrons a memorable culinary experience.
