Houston’s New Faces of Pride to host community meeting on April 25

In preparation for the two major LGBTQ+ Pride parades scheduled in downtown Houston this June, the city’s latest Pride organization, New Faces of Pride, is organizing a community meeting to address any inquiries and introduce its board members.

Scheduled for Thursday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m., the public meeting will be held at the Montrose Center.

President Bryan Cotton emphasized the importance of clarifying any confusion surrounding Houston’s dual Pride parades, both set to occur a week apart. Cotton aims to inform the community about the organization’s initiatives and upcoming celebrations.

As part of the meeting agenda, attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to the planning of the new parade and festival by volunteering for various roles.

Parliamentarian Tim Stokes expressed the organization’s appreciation for volunteers, highlighting their invaluable contributions. New Faces of Pride aims to recruit around 500 volunteers, encompassing roles such as runners, stage hands, parade personnel, and logistics support.

For those interested in volunteering, more information can be found on NewFacesofPride.org.

The inaugural Houston’s New Faces of Pride Parade and Festival is scheduled to take place downtown on Saturday, June 22.
