Arlington police release new surveillance video hoping to get new leads in February murder case

The family shared a photograph of Ricardo Oliveros, 51, whose memory occupies their thoughts constantly. Oliveros’ father, who preferred not to disclose his name, expressed the profound impact of his son’s murder, lamenting the loss of their joy and describing Ricardo as the heart of their home.

Arlington police unveiled new surveillance footage capturing the suspect’s movements before and after Oliveros’ fatal shooting. The video depicts the suspect walking north on Remynse Drive, followed by Oliveros arriving in his red pickup truck and stopping near the suspect. Within moments, the suspect fired at Oliveros before fleeing past a nearby gas station.

Despite the release of the footage, the Oliveros family remains bereft of answers, grappling with profound sorrow and questioning why their beloved Ricardo, known for his kindness, met such a tragic end.

Law enforcement officials hope the newly released video will generate fresh leads, emphasizing the importance of even the smallest piece of information from the public. Oliveros’ father yearns for closure and seeks one simple answer: why.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Arlington Police Detective Robinson at 817-459-5935.
