Where to celebrate late legendary singer Selena’s 53rd birthday in Houston?

In commemoration of what would have been her 53rd birthday, Selena’s enduring cultural impact and musical legacy are being celebrated by fans worldwide, nearly three decades after her iconic performance at the Astrodome.

To honor the Queen of Tejano, several Houston restaurants and movie theaters are hosting special events.

On Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m., Rooftop Cinema Club Uptown will screen Gregory Nava’s acclaimed 1997 biopic “Selena,” featuring Jennifer Lopez’s unforgettable portrayal of the beloved singer. Attendees are encouraged to arrive as early as 5:30 p.m. to enjoy the rhythms of Selena’s music and other Cumbia and Tejano musicians, expertly curated by a live DJ.
