Man calls police after allegedly fatally shooting wife in NE Houston, charged with murder, HPD says

Houston Police Department is conducting an investigation following an incident where a husband allegedly shot his wife inside their northeast Houston residence late Saturday evening.

Authorities responded to a call from the husband in the 9700 block of Tuffly Street near Fidelity, reporting the shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found the husband, described as being in his 50s, on the stairwell with a firearm nearby.

The husband cooperated with the officers and was taken into custody without resistance.

The wife was discovered in a bedroom at the rear of the house with a gunshot wound to the head or face area.

Emergency medical personnel transported her to the hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The husband was transported to police headquarters, where he underwent questioning by detectives and subsequently charged with murder.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear as the investigation continues.
