For the ‘H’: Texans drop hints of new look ahead of uniform reveal

In a move reminiscent of legendary wrestling promoter Paul Heyman’s famous phrase, “It’s not a prediction. That’s a spoiler,” the Houston Texans recently teased their upcoming on-field uniform reveal with sneak peeks and hints. While the team wasn’t making predictions, they certainly dropped clues about what fans can expect.

The anticipation began with what appeared to be a leaked video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user @fredoRdz_. The video, shared at 11:25 a.m., showcased a dark blue helmet against a backdrop of boxes bearing the “Riddell” logo, the manufacturer of the helmets. On the helmet’s side was an old English-style “H” in lighter blue with a red outline. Despite attempts to reach out to the user, there was no response. However, the Texans indirectly acknowledged the video’s existence with a cryptic GIF of a dripping faucet, hinting that they were aware of the leaked footage.

Later in the day, the Texans’ X feed returned with another image confirming that the “H” logo was indeed part of the team’s plans. The image featured chairman/CEO Cal McNair sporting a ballcap adorned with the same “H” seen in the earlier video. A black Labrador wearing a blinged-out chain with a similarly styled “H” joined McNair in the photo.

This sneak peek follows the team’s prior unveiling of new road white uniforms, which they showcased last month with wide receiver duo Tank Dell and Nico Collins modeling the updated look featuring horizontally swooping horns.

The excitement builds as fans eagerly anticipate the full reveal of the Texans’ new on-field attire.
