Man shot in domestic dispute with woman and young child in Westchase area on Sunday, police say

A man is in critical condition following a shooting by a woman, in what authorities have termed a domestic violence incident.

The incident occurred in the Westchase area around 1 a.m. on Sunday, at The Vista at Westchase Apartments located in the 3400 block of Walnut Bend.

The dispute involved the victim, a woman, and a small child, according to the Houston Police Department. However, details about the events leading up to the shooting were not provided.

The man sustained a single gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital. While the current status of the woman and child was not disclosed, HPD stated that the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

At present, it remains unclear whether any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
