Woman kicked ex-boyfriend out before she was found shot to death in Alief, her son tells

In Houston, Texas, detectives suspect the involvement of a woman’s ex-boyfriend in her death after she was discovered shot in her car in Alief over the weekend.

The Houston Police Department responded to the scene on the 11900 block of 7th Street at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, where they found the 52-year-old woman fatally shot in her vehicle.

Reportedly, a man approached her car, discharged multiple shots, and fled the scene in a white Jeep Renegade.

The victim’s son, Daniel Gonzalez, identified her as Rosenda Garcia and revealed that she had recently asked her boyfriend to leave their apartment just days before her death. Although the boyfriend has not been charged, police are seeking to speak with him.

Describing his mother as kind and innocent, Gonzalez recalled their last interaction before her death and expressed frustration over the boyfriend’s lack of communication and absence from work.

While the boyfriend has no history of domestic violence charges, Gonzalez recounted an incident from last year when the boyfriend called the police on himself during an emotional episode involving a firearm.

Despite efforts to reach him, Gonzalez believes the boyfriend may be in Mexico, complicating the investigation.

As the family seeks closure and justice, they urge anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

In light of the tragedy, Garcia’s family is accepting donations to assist with funeral expenses.
