Driver rolls over in crash after colliding with officer who was responding to robbery, HPD says

A collision occurred between a driver and a Houston Police Department officer responding to a robbery call overnight, resulting in minor injuries for the driver.

The incident took place in the Acres Home area near South Victory and N. Shepherd Road.

According to Sgt. Ramirez, the crash occurred at an intersection as the officer, operating with lights and sirens on (Code 1), headed southbound on Shepherd while the driver traveled westbound on Victory.

The impact caused the driver’s vehicle to overturn, as depicted in footage from the scene, with both vehicles sustaining significant damage.

Fortunately, the driver suffered only minor injuries and shoulder soreness, receiving treatment at the hospital and expected to recover.

The HPD officer involved in the crash was unharmed.
