Armored truck guard shot in attempted robbery at Willowbrook Mall

A guard for an armored vehicle was shot in an attempted robbery at Willowbrook Mall Saturday afternoon, Houston police said.

Police received a call at 2:37 p.m. about the shooting in the mall’s back parking lot by Dick’s Sporting Goods. They found a guard of a Brink’s truck who was shot in the arm, according to the Houston Command Center. The Houston Fire Department transported the man for treatment to a local hospital.

The suspect, possibly more than one, fled the scene, according to police and the command center. No one is in police custody for the crime.
