Pedestrian dead after collision in Houston’s River Oaks

Houston police officers are investigating a deadly auto-pedestrian collision in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood Monday involving a cement truck.

The crash was reported around 1:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of S. Shepherd Drive. It is unclear what caused the collision, but Houston police say at least one person is dead.

South Shepherd Drive is closed between Vermont and Peden streets as officers investigate. The roadway will likely be closed for hours.
