I-10 closed near downtown Houston after fatal crash

Inbound commuters should plan for a longer drive Monday morning as police investigate a deadly crash along Interstate 10, just outside downtown Houston.

A pedestrian was struck and killed on the I-10 eastbound lanes at Interstate 45 around 4:30 a.m., according to the Houston Police Department. Details of the crash are scarce, although police said all eastbound lanes of the freeway are closed.

Traffic is being diverted to I-45 southbound, police said. The freeway will likely be closed for another few hours as of 6:20 a.m.No other information was available. Check back for details as they come in.
