Armed man barricaded inside home near Cloverleaf, authorities say

Authorities are asking people to avoid an area near Cloverleaf where an armed man barricaded himself inside a home, possibly with multiple other people, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Harris County Precinct 3 constable deputies, as well as the Harris County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, were still trying to speak to the man as of 9:30 p.m. Monday at the home in 5700 block of Graycliff, Gonzalez said.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office command center confirmed the scene was still active as of 10:30 p.m.

Deputies said they initially responded to a domestic disturbance call earlier in the day at the home, where they learned that a man assaulted a woman inside.

The woman was already out of the house when deputies arrived, Gonzalez said. The armed man ran back inside.

Several children and another woman may be inside the home with the man. No further information was available.
