Fort Bend County deputy struck by vehicle on way to work in Wharton County

A Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputy is recovering from being hit by a vehicle on his way to work Monday morning.

The deputy was driving to his job with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office when he spotted a crash along U.S. 59 in Wharton County, just southwest of Fort Bend. After getting out of his car to check on any injuries, another driver plowed into him, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office

The deputy was rushed to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, sheriff’s officials said.
