A tornado watch was issued for parts of Dallas-Fort Worth as two rounds of showers and storms rolled through North Texas Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The first round moved through the area in the late afternoon and through the evening, and an additional round of storms will come through early Thursday, according to KXAS-TV (NBC5).
A tornado watch was issued for parts of North Texas until 4 a.m. Thursday, including Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall and Kaufman counties.
A severe thunderstorm warning for Collin and Grayson counties was lifted at 11:16 p.m.
Denton County was under a tornado and until 10:10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Parker, Tarrant and Wise counties were under a severe thunderstorm warning through 9:45 p.m.
Winds moved northeast at 30 mph and golfball-sized hail was reported, the National Weather Service said.
An additional severe thunderstorm warning issued to Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Fannin, Grayson and Lamar counties expired at 10 p.m. A tornado warning expired was lifted for Van Zandt County, and a severe thunderstorm warning expired for Kaufman County at 6:30 p.m.
Storms will be capable of producing hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported. Rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch will be possible.
