Increasingly warm temps and slight rain chances for your work week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — We’re seeing some patchy fog this morning across parts of Southeast Texas, that fog will gradually lift through the mid-morning and won’t be a concern for most. Mostly cloudy skies early will transition to partly sunny/partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. A couple of isolated showers will be possible but most of us will stay dry. High temperatures top out in the mid to upper 70s, but that warmup is just getting started.

What are we expecting for the work week?
A slight chance for rain will be possible each day with the best chance of rain on Wednesday with a 30% chance as a cool front approaches. Unfortunately it looks like the front will stall north of our area so we aren’t expecting much relief from the warmer temps. And those temps will really be on the rise with highs in the 80s throughout much of the week and we’ll even near 90 degrees by the end of the work week.

So does that mean I’ll need an umbrella this week?!
You don’t necessarily need to carry one with you each day but I would put one in your car in case you get caught in some isolated rain!

When is our next front moving in?
We should be looking at another cool front late Friday into Saturday of this upcoming week, though you shouldn’t expect much of a cool down from it.

When will this oak pollen go away?!
We are near peak pollen season, but we’ll need to give it another couple of weeks before we fully rid ourselves of local oak pollen issues. Oak pollen levels are verging on extreme, so a heavy rain would do a lot to help decrease the amount of the allergen that’s floating in the air.
