64-year-old man arrested on DWI charge after crashing into two Dallas police squad cars

A 64-year-old man was in custody early Saturday after crashing into two Dallas police squad cars, police said.

Henry Fahrlander is being held in the Dallas County jail on charges of driving while intoxicated and passing an emergency vehicle and causing bodily injury, jail records show. His bail is set at $4,000, and it’s unclear whether he has an attorney.

Officers were stopped just before 2:45 a.m. at the scene of a wreck that happened in the 11100 block of E. Northwest Highway, just northeast of White Rock Lake Park, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported.

Fahrlander hit the back of one of two squad cars that were stopped in the road to guard the crash. The collision caused the first car to hit the second one, police told NBC5.

No injuries were reported, but one Dallas officer who was sitting in the car that was hit first was taken to a hospital out of precaution, NBC5 reported.
