58-year-old man fatally struck while standing outside his SUV on I-30, Grand Prairie police say

A 58-year-old man died Saturday night after he was hit while he was standing outside his SUV on Interstate 30, Grand Prairie police say.

Police were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of I-30 near Belt Line Road about 8:15 after a car struck an SUV that was stranded in the traffic lane with no lights on.

The SUV’s driver was struck during the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.

Police said they were continuing to investigate and did not release details about what happened before the crash.
