HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Hot and humid with some scattered storms, but next week we are expecting a big drop in the humidity with the arrival of our first fall front.
Before we get that taste of fall fresh air, we have deeper moisture and rain chances on the way.
The remnants of Nicholas remain over Louisiana, and that moisture continues to filter into Southeast TX.
Sunday will bring another round of scattered showers and storms by mid to late morning. Some of these storms could produce gusty winds with frequent cloud-to-ground lightning strike. Most of you that get rain will pick up less than 1″, but there could be up to 3″ in the heaviest storms. Your chance of getting rain is 30%.
How does the rest of the weekend look?
Moisture levels drop a notch Sunday, so we have 30% rain chances in the forecast. The rain could start earlier in the day than it will on Saturday, so temperatures will again peak in the mid and upper 80s.
