56-year-old woman fatally shot Thursday inside Fort Worth home

A 56-year-old woman was found fatally shot early Thursday inside a home in Fort Worth, police said.

Fort Worth police were called about 2:30 a.m. to the 6900 block of Sunflower Circle, across from East Loop 820. Officers found a woman inside the home with a gunshot wound to her lower body.

The woman, identified as Janice Yvonne White by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, was taken to a hospital and shortly died from her injuries.

No additional information about what led to the shooting or possible suspects was immediately available.
