Man arrested, accused in fatal shooting early Sunday outside Terrell night club, PD says

Authorities have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting another early Sunday outside of a night club in Terrell, police said.

Shortly after 2 a.m., officers from the Terrell Police Department were dispatched to a shooting in the 300 block of FM 148, at Swings Doors club according to police. Terrell is a city in Kaufman County about 37 miles east of downtown Dallas.

Responding officers found a man, identified as Bryan Squires, 27, who had been shot, police said. Squires, of Terrell, was taken to a medical facility in Forney — about 12 miles west of Terrell — where he died.

Investigators believe Nicholas Longoria, 34, and his girlfriend were in an argument with a “group of guys” inside the night club at the location, according to police.

Crime in The News“The altercation led to the club parking lot where Longoria allegedly shot the victim,” police said in a Sunday news release, adding that multiple witnesses confirmed the identity of the gunman.

Longoria, also of Terrell, was arrested Sunday morning on unrelated charges, but is now facing a murder charge, according to the news release.

It was unclear Sunday evening whether Longoria had an attorney, and his bail information was not immediately available.
