In Houston, Texas, the Lunar New Year kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 10, heralding the Year of the Dragon. Also referred to as Chinese New Year, this celebration signifies the transition from winter to spring and is honored by Southeast Asians worldwide, including Houston’s vibrant community.

Houston Botanic Gardens

The Houston Botanic Gardens presents “Radiant Nature,” an immersive exhibition inspired by the Lunar New Year. Produced by Tianyu Arts & Culture, the exhibit features over 50 paper lanterns illuminating the garden, including Chinese-inspired works. Visitors can explore a Chinese pagoda and a spectacular 200-foot dragon, creating a captivating spectacle, especially at night.
