Dallas resident wins $5 million in Texas Lottery scratch-off game

A resident of Dallas has become the inaugural big winner of the Texas Lottery scratch-off game Luxe, securing a grand prize of $5 million.

According to the Texas Lottery, the winning $50 scratch-off ticket was bought at the 7-Eleven store located on Hillcrest Avenue in University Park.

While the winner has chosen to remain anonymous, they are anticipated to receive approximately $3.25 million after taxes.

This grand prize marks the first of four top prizes worth $5 million to be claimed in the game. Additionally, Luxe offers 154 prizes of $10,000 and over 7,600 prizes of $1,000. Presently, six of the $10,000 prizes and 378 of the $1,000 prizes have been claimed.

Luxe, distributed on more than 6 million tickets, offers nearly $240 million in cash prizes. The overall odds of winning a prize in this game are 1 in 3.48.
