Arlington PD investigating at least 20 deaths linked to unlicensed assisted living company

The death toll linked to an Arlington Police investigation is rising, with new developments shedding light on potential wrongdoing.

In March, authorities apprehended 49-year-old Regla “Su” Becquer, the proprietor of “Love and Caring for People LLC.” This company was entrusted with providing supervised personal care for adults, but allegations of abuse, neglect, theft, and fraud toward clients emerged.

Recently, police disclosed that they are now aware of at least 20 clients of Love and Caring for People LLC who have passed away. Collaborating with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office and the families of the deceased, they aim to ascertain details regarding the cause and manner of death. This investigation seeks to determine if any deaths are suspicious or potentially criminal.

Initially, in January, authorities were aware of 13 deaths associated with the company.

Becquer operated five assisted living facilities, with the possibility of additional locations:

– 1210 Woodbrook Street in Arlington
– 7411 Lake Whitney Drive in Arlington
– 7419 Fossil Creek Drive in Arlington
– 2059 Turtle Cove Drive in Mansfield
– 1852 Hidden Brook Drive in Grand Prairie

Furthermore, investigators are probing how Becquer acquired one of these properties, specifically 1210 Woodbrook Street in Arlington. Records indicate that the home was owned by a woman named Karen Walker, who passed away at the Mansfield community home on October 26, 2022. A hand-written will discovered by authorities, dated October 7, bequeathed Walker’s entire estate to Becquer, prompting further scrutiny into its authenticity.

Given the complexity of this investigation, law enforcement continues to review evidence and interview potential victims and witnesses. They encourage anyone with information to contact their active tip line at 817-575-3230.
