Arlington man sentenced in 2022 Amber Alert kidnapping, sexual assault

On Friday, an Arlington resident was handed a 60-year prison sentence following allegations of aggravated kidnapping and sexual abuse linked to an Amber Alert case involving a missing 13-year-old girl.

Nolan Neighbors, aged 31, was discovered on June 16, 2022, in a North Arlington apartment with the missing girl, who had been the subject of an Amber Alert originating from Fannin County.

Arlington police stated to NBC 5 in 2022 that they suspected Neighbors and the teenager had initiated contact online and arranged a meeting.

On the evening of June 14, 2022, when the girl’s mother returned home from work, she realized her daughter was missing and promptly alerted the authorities. Subsequently, an Amber Alert was issued, leading to the girl’s recovery two days later.

Initially detained on a charge of harboring a minor runaway, classified as a misdemeanor, Neighbors later faced charges of felony kidnapping and sexual abuse.

The trial commenced on Monday in Tarrant County at the 372nd District Court. Following his conviction, Neighbors was sentenced to 60 years of imprisonment in a state correctional facility.
