The ‘Fort Worth Herd’ is looking for drovers

Are you passionate about horses? Do you dream of living the cowboy or cowgirl lifestyle? How about getting paid to ride on horseback? The Fort Worth Herd is currently seeking drovers to participate in the twice-daily cattle drive in the Stockyards.

In the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, the Longhorns steal the spotlight. However, it takes a dedicated team of drovers to walk the cattle down Exchange Street every day at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., rain or shine.

As a drover, you’ll play a vital role in representing the historic era between the 1860s and 1890s cattle drives. Your efforts will honor the drovers who worked tirelessly to drive the cattle, horses, and livestock up to Kansas, contributing to the development of Fort Worth.

The Fort Worth Herd is currently hiring both full-time and part-time drovers to serve as ambassadors for one of Cowtown’s most iconic cultural experiences.

Part-time positions are available with the opportunity to transition to full-time roles, complete with benefits. Drovers are needed throughout the week, including weekends and holidays.

If you have a passion for animals, horseback riding, and history, we encourage you to apply at FortWorth.com/jobs. Join us in celebrating Fort Worth’s rich heritage and become a part of the Fort Worth Herd today!
