Shooting victim dies after being found in South Dallas street

A person was found fatally wounded Sunday night in the middle of a street in South Dallas, police said.

Officers were called about 11:45 p.m. to the 3400 block of Jeffries Street, where they found the victim in the roadway.

The victim had been shot and was taken to a hospital, where he died. Police did not provide his name or age.

Police provided no details about what led to the slaying or any possible suspects. No one was in custody Monday morning in connection with the shooting, police said.
