New season, new menu items at Rangers’ Globe Life Field

Anticipation is mounting at Globe Life Field in Arlington as the Texas Rangers gear up for their Opening Day this Thursday, heralding the start of a fresh season complete with new merchandise and menu offerings.

“Our inaugural Opening Day as defending World Series Champions,” remarked Rob Matwick, the Rangers’ Executive Vice President for Business Operations, setting the stage for the excitement.

The ballpark unveiled a glimpse of the latest culinary creations for the upcoming season, with Executive Chef Cris Vasquez of Delaware North at Globe Life Field leading the charge.

“In Texas, we tend to go big, but this year, we’re taking a different approach, revisiting the nostalgia of our old stadium,” Vasquez explained, emphasizing a shift towards smaller, shareable portions.

From bacon-wrapped hotdogs to crispy tacos and savory meatballs, the menu is a nod to retro-inspired flavors with a modern twist.

Among the highlights are the Boomstick Triple Play, designed for communal enjoyment, featuring two burgers, a foot-long chili dog, and nachos.

Also on offer are Texas Tacos in crunchy red shells, Korean Pork Steamed Buns boasting slow-cooked pulled pork in soft bao, and towering Meatball Garlic Knot Sliders, among others.

Partnering with renowned establishments like Whataburger, Golden Chick, Hurtado Barbecue, and Arlington Eats restaurants, the ballpark will offer a diverse selection of fare for all 81 games.

Additionally, ShrimpDoc’s unique creation, the shrimp dog, promises a seafood twist on the classic stadium snack.

Reflecting on the evolving expectations of stadium cuisine, Vasquez noted the growing demand for elevated and inventive food offerings.

With the added honor of serving in the home of the World Series Champions, Vasquez acknowledged the pressure but expressed enthusiasm for the culinary journey ahead.

“It’s a thrilling challenge,” Vasquez affirmed. “We’re ready to deliver an exceptional experience for our fans!”
