1-year-old unharmed after being barricaded with suspect during stand-off in NW Harris Co., HCSO says

In northwest Harris County, a suspect has been apprehended following a stand-off incident during which a 1-year-old was present, as reported by officials.

Responding to a family disturbance call in the 10400 block of Hamlet Vale Court around 9 p.m. on Thursday, the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Office was dispatched to the scene. Initial reports indicated that a woman and another young child were inside the residence but managed to escape.

The male suspect, however, reportedly refused to vacate the premises and barricaded himself inside, accompanied by the 1-year-old child.

In response to the situation, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deployed its SWAT negotiation team to the area. After a period of negotiation, law enforcement officials entered the home, prompting the suspect to flee through the rear exit and traverse multiple fences.

Despite his attempted escape, authorities swiftly located and apprehended the suspect.

Fortunately, the 1-year-old child emerged from the ordeal unharmed.

According to investigators, the suspect is now facing charges related to domestic assault against a family member.
