Harris County deputies say that a driver involved in a major crash said he had been drinking alcohol right before the accident.

The crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday morning on the 9100 block of Shoal Creek Drive. Deputies say that the 23-year-old male driver who struck the other car was traveling at a high rate of speed on Shoal Creek road when he careened into the side of Minivan.  Both drivers were taken by Life Flight and now are in critical condition.
