Man dies weeks after wife allegedly shoots him during argument at Galleria-area apartment: police

Less than a month after a dispute between them, a man has tragically passed away following multiple gunshot wounds allegedly inflicted by his wife in their Galleria area apartment.

The incident, which occurred on March 21, led to the wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae Chidozie, facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Despite the severity of the situation, court records indicate that the charge has not been elevated. Keaiirra is currently out on bond, awaiting her next court appearance scheduled for May 23.

The couple, Michael Chidozie and Keaiirra, shared two children, who were present at the time of the shooting. Although Michael was found alive by the Houston police upon their arrival, he succumbed to his injuries on April 8, 18 days after the incident.

Francis Abah, a friend of Michael, expressed shock and disbelief at the tragic turn of events, emphasizing that violence was never apparent in their relationship. Abah, who envisioned a bright future for Michael, particularly in his budding career as a natural bodybuilder, mourns the loss and regrets not having the opportunity to hear Michael’s perspective on the incident.

Abah stresses the importance of seeking help and counseling in resolving conflicts, highlighting that such tragedies could often be prevented if addressed early on. Currently, efforts are underway to raise funds to repatriate Michael’s remains to Nigeria, with a GoFundMe campaign launched to support the family with expenses.
