1 killed in deadly crash on Katy Freeway, all outbound lanes closed at Mason, deputies say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The westbound lanes of the Katy Freeway near Mason Road were shut down Friday night following a deadly crash on the highway, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Gonzalez shared an update on Twitter, saying that deputies were on scene investigating how the crash occurred.

Gonzalez said all outbound lanes have been shut down at Mason Road as the investigation continues. He also provided residents with several alternative routes to avoid the area.
